Hello, Kiara Sarafina Pride .
» Is there anything you would rather be called?
"Not really, but some people call me Ki, or Kiki. I much prefer Kiara to any of that though… it‘s my name for a reason!"
» Great, now that we've got that covered. How old are you?
"I‘m Sixteen, which is legal in Germany, although not here. I plan on going to Germany sometime in the future though… Right after Africa"
» You know, has anyone ever told you that you look exactly like...?
"Carollane Evans? Yeah, a lot of people actually…. Isn‘t it weird? "

Let's talk about your personality.
» What are a few of your favorite things?
"I like a lot of things I guess. I like to go on adventures… but not like princess adventures to find their princes… like adventures to lost places, like places people have forgotten. Temples, Pyramids, Forbidden cities…. I like doing it all. I also like to read, to go different places all while staying in the comfort of my own home, I like the romantic aspect of it all. I like meeting new people, to get to know them, especially to find the good in them. Not everyone has a bad side… and I like finding the good in people. I really like doing things on my own… like cooking or projects or driving. It makes me feel great about myself and knowing it‘s something I did, not someone else… well now isn‘t that just the best? I like playing games to… it may sound childish, but my favourite game is Hide and go seek tag. It‘s like hide and go seek, but after you‘ve been found the person who‘s it has to tag you… after you‘re tagged you‘re it!."
»That's interesting. Is there anything you absolutely dislike?
"I hate when people expect me to live up to my family name… to run the company just like my father. I hate my last name and what it brands me of. Sure I should be proud… we are the top company in importing exotic goods but…Why should it even matter? I hate when people try to do things for me… like really hate it. It brings out my temper, which you don‘t want to see. I don‘t like when people ignore me, or talk down to me. I guess I‘m stubborn like that…. Other than that my only other dislike is when people are branded by their family. You shouldn‘t be marked by your parents mistakes… or in my case, successes."
» Hm, what is your greatest fear?
"That‘s… well… it has to be my family being torn apart. I can‘t stand to lose any of them… even if they are a pain. I love them all, and it would kill me if anything happened to them.."
» Yeah, that is scary. Do you have any dreams for the future?
"I want to grow up and travel the world… I want to visit every country, every island, and I want to discover a lost kingdom. Is that a stretch? It‘s my dream, to do it all my own. To find a kingdom that was once lost and bring it back to the light for everyone to see"
» Wow, I hope you succeed. Can you tell me a little bit about yourself?
"About me? How do I describe myself… Hmm, that’s tough haha. My dad would say I’m childish, because of how I behave. He thinks I should just give up all this silly dreamer stuff and focus on running the company one day. I don’t want to though… I want to be free to do my own thing. That’s another thing, I’m a dreamer. I like to imagine myself in far off places doing great things there… not sitting behind a desk wondering if shipments are on time or not. My mom calls me stubborn, and I am. I don’t give up on anything or anyone and I see things through to the end.
I always try to see the good in people. Everyone has a good side, it’s just hidden underneath all the bad… Heh, and sometimes people aren’t bad, just pretending to be. I’m the kind of girl that doesn’t judge people… by anything. So what if your family screwed up, did you? No, why should I hold it against you? I can get really restless easily, and I don’t like sitting still for long. I’m very active, especially when I’m not at school. I run, swim, participate in archery… I do a lot of things, but I do always find time to read. I’m already planning my senior trip to Africa. I want to see the lions and gazelles… I want to meet the people and learn their customs… It’s going to be magical.

So far so good. Now for history.
» So tell me, where are you from? What did you think of it?
"My family is originally from this island haha, we’ve never really been anywhere else. I’ve lived her and grew up here… I don’t really know anything else. Although I’ve always been drawn to foreign countries… especially the wasteland countries like Africa. Haha, Maybe I was really born there.
"
» Do you have any other family? Parents? Siblings? Extended? What do you think about them?
"I have both my parents. I love them both, although my dad is really stubborn. My mom tells me he used to be a lot like me when he was younger but I don’t believe it. He’s a stickler for getting things done right and he doesn’t know when to just let me relax. He never gives me the freedom I want and won’t let me do things on my own… I love him anyways though. My mom on the other hand is really level-headed and loving. She asks questions but still let’s me go and have my fun. She bakes me cookies and will still try and read me a story from time to time. She likes to tell me stories from when my dad was a kid and I enjoy them. I used to fall asleep on her lap all the time when I was little, not so much anymore. I’m an only child, which can get lonely, but I do see a lot of my relatives as well as the people and families that work for my dad. I’m not alone all the time but it still gets pretty lonely sometimes.
"
» What is your worst memory/memories?
"My worst memory is when I was a kid and I was outside playing. I had met this little boy, I can’t remember his name, but we had just met. We instantly became friends. One day we were outside playing at his house, which apparently wasn’t a good neighborhood, and this dog started chasing us. I think it was a pit-bull, but it was big and scary and was slobbering everywhere. We ran so far to get away from it and eventually we climbed up a tree. We didn’t get very far, and the branch was about to break. I was so terrified that I thought we were going to die… I don’t really remember the rest but I do remember that I haven’t seen that little boy since that day."
» What is your best memory/memories?
"My best memory had to be when I was five and I was in my dad’s study. I was just looking around, trying to find a good place to hide from my nanny, when I saw the giant African mask on my dad’s wall. Underneath is was a lion statue, with a female lion as well as lion cubs. I remember my dad walking in on me as I was staring at them and asked me if I wanted to hear a story about them. He picked me up and took me over to his desk chair where he sat down and started telling me the story “Once upon a time there was a lioness name Kala, she was the future queen of her tribe, although she did not want to be. She was a very adventurous Lioness who was always running off, disobeying her father. Well one day Kala ran off into the dark part of the pride land where she met a lion name Koru, he was from the family that her father had exiled from the pride. The two had fallen in love when they were young, but had been separated because of their families, and had just found each other again. The two families were, as a matter of fact, fighting at the moment. All Koru wanted to do was run away with Kala, but she convinced him to go back with her and stop the fighting. Eventually he agreed, and they went back. Kala’s father was not pleased, but after Koru had helped him in the fight, and saved his life, he couldn’t really protest… now could he?” But then I had fallen asleep on his lap… so I don’t know the rest. That was one of the few close moments I’ve actually had with my father and it’s my fondest memory."
» Where are you now? What are you doing with your life?
"What am I doing with my life now? I’m living it. I’m doing what I want to do and when I want to do it, I don’t care if my dad approves or not. But I can keep control of myself. I know what boundaries not to push, and when to stay in line. I am attending high school thought and am close to the top of my class. My mind can wander to other things so I’m not always that focused on my schoolwork. Most of the time, I’m off exploring the island, looking for new places and trying to meet new people. I try and say hi to someone new every day. You never know what kind of person you’ll meet and usually they can be pretty interesting. I’ve also started planning on what I’m going to do after high school. I doubt I’m not going to take over my family business, but I’m keeping my options open. I’ve always wanted to be an explorer, discovering new lands, new people. Or even a teacher, especially with kids. I love playing with kids most of the time it’s probably because I never gave up on the kid inside of myself. I do always make sure I have time to read, although now a days it’s getting pretty hard to do it with my dad and school and just over all life. It’s pretty hectic.
