It was a quarter after eight, and Tristan was already seated in the restaurant. Dressed in a smart suit and shirt, you could say he passed off as a proper gentleman. Even his artfully messy mop of hair had been tamed for the evening. Of course, he wanted to make a good impression. After all, it was his first date with the one girl he had real feelings for. A guy like Tristan wasn't accustomed to dating; in the past, it hadn't been his style. Girls came easy, but that novelty wore off quickly, especially when he reconnected with Addison again. He found himself wanting to romance her - something he'd never previously cared about. Yet the only meetings they ever seemed to have revolved around the Poison Apple and it's dramas. Hence why he was sitting here now, feeling completely out of place as he waited for his girl.
He shifted, for the first time in his life feeling extremely uncomfortable, surrounded by people dressed in the best designs and wearing sparkling jewels which probably cost twice as much as Tristan's whole apartment block together. Somehow, he felt like all eyes were on him - like they could smell a phoney or something. Feeling hot around the collar, he tugged gently at his navy neck-tie, loosening it a little before running a hand through his slicked back hair. It just didn't feel right - he felt like a peacock on show or something. A wolf in sheep's clothing. Checking his watch, his foot tapping habituously upon the floor, Tristan plucked one of the breadsticks from the center of the table and nibbled on it.
And as for how he had managed to afford this place - well, it was all about who he knew, really. Tony, the owner of Bella Notte, had been a good friend to Tristan growing up. He had done some errands for the Italian, and in return was compensated generously with all the food he could eat. All he had to do was ask, though of course, he didn't like to take advantage of his old friend's kindness too much. He knew that Tony would help out, but tonight was on him.

The whole day went by in a haze, and Addison kept feeling the urge to pinch herself to convince herself that this was real. She wasn't entirely sure this wasn't just some dream her mind had cooked up, but she was definitely not complaining. She had spent hours preparing herself for the big first date. Her first date with Tristan, at that. The only times they'd really seen each other at any length was in that bar. Not a very promising start to a new relationship. She'd been looking forward to this date since it was set, and she was glad it was finally here. She almost felt guilty as she walked out of her apartment, and told her parents she'd be back later. They didn't question her, but she hadn't told them where she was going. This was going to be her little secret. At least for now.
She had spent hours perfecting her look. She refused to leave until she looked absolutely perfect. She had finally decided to go the simple route with a green dress and flats. Her parents had ordered her a car to take her to wherever she needed. She headed out of the building and into the car, quickly telling the man where she needed to go. She had never been to the restaurant before, but she was excited to try something new. She leaned her head against the window, hoping that she wouldn't embarrass herself tonight.
She walked into the restaurant, taking a quick look around. She was struck by the simple brilliance of the restaurant's decor, and it struck her how expensive this all must be. She shook the thoughts out of her head, and smiled at Tristan as her eyes met his. She walked over to the table and brushed her curls out of her face, before sitting down. She looked around once more, before turning to him and smiling widely.
"Sorry if I'm late..It's hard getting around since the whole Titan incident. This place is really nice Tristan. I can't believe you got us a table here! So elegant and I've heard the food is delicious! I'm so excited.." She smiled meekly before nibbling on the breadstick.

As time went on, Tristan found his gaze sweeping over the other customers in the restaurant. Most were couples, which was another reason as to why he'd chosen Bella Notte besides the fact that the food was out of this world. There were no families with screaming children throwing spaghetti and pizza off the tables in a temper tantrum; no snobby food critics with a stick up their butt and an answer for everything; just romance. Something Tristan wasn't so familiar with, but was obviously good at it for a first-timer. Wooing women came naturally to him, but knowing that there was only one girl with expectations did make him feel very wary of what he was doing. When Tony himself came over with the wine, Tristan poured himself a hearty glass.
He figured it was to be expected of a woman to be late for an event, so sitting on his own wasn't what bothered him so much. It just took a lot of getting used to, being here and that this was all happening. He thought back to a few weeks ago before Addison had come back into his life and blown him away with her god-given looks and charming, gentle nature. He'd been ducking the cops, avoiding the landlord, accompanying rich old broads to open nights around town and having a lot of fun in between. His life was spontaneous to say the least and there were no rules or boundaries.
Now, however, having Addison back seemed to over-rule any of that careless fun. As scary as it was for him to think about committment, the beautiful lady made him want to go out of his way to protect and provide for her - like he had done when they first met, on that fateful night when he found her alone and scared, wandering the streets. An innocent little pup drifting along the wrong side of the tracks. She brought out a completely different side to him.
Finishing the breadstick, Tristan glanced towards the entrance of the restaurant as the lady in question stepped daintily in and spotted him immediately, making her way over. He perked up, rising to his feet as she joined him - was good manners, right? - and couldn't help it when his eyes roved across her, appreciatively taking in how good she looked in that pretty green dress, her wavy mass of red locks looking so soft to touch that he felt the urge to run his hands through it.
"That's fine, I'm just glad you're here. You uh...you look fantastic", he replied, a little lost for words.
Tristan grinned, shrugging off any apology and sweeping over to move her chair into the table for her as she sat before returning to his own seat opposite her, still finding it extremely difficult to shift his gaze from her. How did he get so lucky? He poured her a glass of wine, grinning slightly when she complimented the choice of venue.
"Glad you like it. I know the manager, he's an old friend. We go way back", he replied with a smile, looking across to her. "Don't be surprised if he falls in love with you." He laughed slightly, as the man in question appeared and began to praise Addison, taking her hand and placing a chaste kiss on it before asking what they would like to order, telling them they could have anything they want, on the house. Tristan bit his lip, giving a crooked grin over at Addison and scanning the menu.
"Hm. Say, the Spaghetti Speciale. Heavy on the meatball?", he told Tony, before glancing across at his radiant date. "What are you havin' Pidge? Choose anything you want."

Addison had never expected her life to take a turn like this. She had never intended to see Tristan again and had especially not expected to fall for him so completely. She had always been a complete lady. She had been raised in a world of glitz and glamour, where people weren't real or allowed to have emotions. Her parents had wanted her to grow up to be a lady and to marry a gentleman. That wasn't what she wanted in her life though, and she was determined to be different. When she first met Tristan, she had been afraid of him. She was just a lost little girl who had never been outside on her own. She had no idea what to expect when he first approached her, and she had been surprised when he had taken care of her. He had genuinely seemed to care about her, in a way no one else had for a while.
She couldn't believe how amazing everything was going already, and the date hadn't even started. The atmosphere was incredible and the whole restaurant just gave off a romantic feeling that Addison adored. She liked that the restaurant was elegant, but didn't seem inaccessible to anyone. It wasn't one of those snobby restaurants with a horrific dress code, that looked down on anyone who didn't meet their criteria. It was a nice homey sort of restaurant that Addison couldn't help but love.
She blushed as she felt his eyes wander her body, and she giggled a bit. She felt comfortable here with him. It didn't feel as though he was judging her. He would never do that, and she felt safe with him. He had protected her since their first encounter and she was sure that he would never let anything happen to her. He had proved that at the bar a few weeks back when he punched that poor boy in the face.
"As do you Tristan. Kinda surprising to see you in a tie and all dressed up. Very handsome." She smiled. It was all such a nice surprise and change of pace.
This night was starting off wonderfully. She turned a bright shade of crimson as the owner complimented her. She gasped as he offered any food they would like on the house. It was such a generous offer, and she couldn't help but glow as Tristan smiled. His smile lit up her heart, and she couldn't imagine being anywhere but right there. Every doubt she had about him being able to be faithful faded away with that crooked smile. It brought back every memory of why she had fallen in love with him and she had no regrets about any of it.
"I'll have the same. It sounds delicious and besides, who doesn't love a good plate of pasta." She smiled happily, took a sip of her wine and looked across at Tristan once more. "Thank you for going to all this trouble Tristan. I know this is all new and I'm so excited we're doing this..." She leaned over to give him a peck on the cheek. This had to be her happily ever after. He was her fairy tale prince. Her knight in shining armor.
