"...now they may or may not be armed, but don't underestimate them. They're highly dangerous. I want you out there patrolling every corner of the city. The special forces unit will be taking prompt action."
The Sheriff dismissed the meeting, and most of the officers - all male - began to talk amongst themselves as they headed from the office. Catching a few snickers about how "hot" the two female members of these "Titan Four" were, followed by a pervy joke about how they wouldn't mind cuffing them, Mulan rolled her eyes. She examined the posters that the Sergeant had provided them with for a moment, before setting them down on the table and getting to her feet, following the large group of law enforcement officers as they milled through the door and dispersed into smaller groups across the department.
"Mulan!"
She had barely put her foot out of the door when the police chief's barked order reached her ears. Turning about, the slender young officer couldn't help but raise her brow curiously as the chief made his way over to her. What had she done now? As excellent an officer as she was, and skilled at that, it seemed that any time something wrong went down in this department, she copped the blame. Sure, blame the only woman on the squad. Sexist pigs.
"Yes sir?"
The emphasis she placed on that last word earned her a disapproving look from her senior. Alright, so perhaps it was unnecessary. Her expression softened, in an attempt to appear somewhat interested in whatever it was the older man in front of her had to say. She couldn't help but mentally prepare for some boring lecture reminding her about the department's policy on how to address other staff members. He was probably still bitter about catching her referring to him as "Sergeant Fuckwit" the previous afternoon. Mulan herself didn't seem too fazed by it. It wasn't the first time the firey cop had lost her temper in the office. She blamed it on opression, and stress. It was tough working with a bunch of apes sometimes.
"I want you stationed with McNally and Malone in the central part of the city. No fuck-ups, just keep watch", the chief began, his expression quite serious. "And I trust you'll remember our policy on addressing senior staff members."
Blah blah blah blah.
Watching as he turned on his heel, Mulan rolled her eyes and went to the locker room to "suit up" as she liked to call it. Loading her firearms, she slipped them into her belt and pinned her jet black hair up into a slick ponytail, keeping it out of her face. She exited the department, catching up with Malone and McNally - two of the more decent pigs she called colleagues.
"So girls. We ready to catch some criminals?", she chided before slipping into the passenger seat of the police car, as Malone took to the wheel and McNally sat in the back.
As the vehicle crawled along the streets of Faraway City, she couldn't help but feel a little excited about this part of the job, as her dark eyes scanned every alleyway and nook that they passed. It was far more exciting to be out looking for a dangerous con - it certainly made a change from detaining the usual teen rebels busted on a coke charge or whatever. Anything for a little action, really.
