Gerda walked slowly down the street. She was cold and it had rain earlier. As her feet splashed in the wet puddles she dived between the crowd. She wanted to get home. She had had a long day at work, and now she walked in her work uniform home. She looked like some one going through a rough time. Her whole life was about getting out of her village, getting as far away from that hellish place as possible for her. But now she was... Now what did she do? What did she want to do. She liked to sing, but she didn't think she was good enough to do it professionally. She was a really good fencer, but she didn't think there was any way to do that for money. Her job at the candy shop wasn't paying enough, and she was stuck in a hellish apartment. And even with all of this, she was happier here then she had been before. She couldn't help but smile. She was glad she had left, she had left the world where she was a freak, and while no one really knew her here, she was confident she would love it.

Al marched down the street steadily. He wasn't as tired as he thought he would be, coming from work. In fact, he had a little more energy left, but he was sure that it would soon disappear too. He was starving, his last meal being a cheeseburger that he had for dinner the other night. To cap things off, it had rained earlier during the day, and he just hated the weather. What was to like about that whole dullness that came along after rain? He walked the bustling streets, together with almost every blue-collar worker around Faraway city. He didn't mind them much, after all, he had his own problems, and I'm sure they had theirs too.
Al took a right, finally reaching Hill Street, one of the more high-traffic streets in the outskirts of town. It was all just a flood of strange and nameless faces walking by him. Amidst the noise, he could hear his stomach grumbling. As though on impulse, he felt his hand run through the nearby girl's bag, fiddling around it for anything that might be of value: a purse, a wallet, maybe some jewelry or a phone.

Gerda is not the person to rob. She never had a lot of money to began with, so when she had money she was really carful with it. So you had to feel a little sorry for the guy who's hand some how found its way in her bag. Because the minuet she discovered it her hand was at his throat. "If you have anything in your hands that mine I swore to god I'll go saudi Arabia on your a** and cut your hand off. Got it?" She said. There was a serious note in her voice as if she would actually do it. ooc-Sorry its short

Al hadn't noticed what it was that he was doing, until the quick motions of a girl going berserk clicked in. It all just happened so fast that Al barely even had time to process what it was that was happening. He felt a hand clutch at his throat tightly and he fidgeted to get out of it, gasping a little for air. He broke free from the girl's grip rather easily, and when he did, it was only then that what she was saying sunk in. Though the girl sounded serious, he found it a bit hard to believe whatever it was she was saying. "Um, wow. I don't know what must'ave happened, miss. Things just...I'm really sorry. You see, I'm a kleptomaniac, and sometimes, my hands just start pocketing things. I didn't mean to," he threw out an excuse, and he sounded rather convincing, even though he didn't really mean it. It was just that he was so accustomed to lying that it felt like second nature. ---- Notes: Don't worry about it And also, you don't have to bleep the curses

Gerda kept her non caring face on as she listened to the guys excuse, she highly doubted it. It sounded like something he just said in order to get out of being held responsible for his actions. She hated people who did that. She really hated it. It was rude and she just didn't like being lied to. "Well then the lost of your hands would fix that problem wouldn't it." She said her eye brows raised and a smile on her lips. But not a happy smile, a sarcastic smile, a mean one. "Let me see your hands." she demanded. She wanted to make sure he didn't get any of her stuff, she didn't trust him. She didn't really trust any one. Especially not the guy she just found looking through her bag.

From the looks of it, his easy-slip plan seemed to have failed. Looks like the girl wasn't really buying any of it. So just figured that he'd probably agree to her request and show her his hands. He, after all, hadn't picked up anything yet from her. Taking a step back from what seemed like a vicious animal, he looked over at her and opened his palms, revealing nothing but air.
"See? Did you have to get all that rough with me? Geez, you're a feisty one for someone your age," he replied, now putting his hands inside his pocket casually, as though feeling for something. "So, you're content now, or you wanna check my shoes too?" he asked, not sounding rude, but rather, calm and open. If she did want to check his shoes, then he would most certainly not be against it. After all, he had nothing to hide...there.

Gerda looked at him suspiciously She thought for about a second. "theres no way you could have gotten anything in your shoes so fast. " She turned and began to walk away, but something in her, the same something that kept her from committing murder when some one said something stupid, made her turn and say, "Hey, I'm going to get dinner if you want to come along if you want."
Yes deep inside of her there was a nice girl, and she could understand that it sucked to be down on your luck. She assumed this guy was trying to rob her cause money was tight. "that is if I can trust you not to rob me the second you get the slightest chance." She had enough money to get herself and him dinner, and she would just have to cut back on the drinks at that bar for a while till the next check came in.

The boy breathed a sigh of relief when the girl decided to drop it. At least she wasn't all too nosey about it. He was actually pretty surprised that it was something she decided on handling on her own, especially since she seemed like someone so young. Others would have called the police directly. He gently clasped his jean pocket and began to walk away from the girl when he stopped abruptly, hearing her talk.
Al wasn't sure if she was talking to him at first, but when she said something about trusting him not to rob her, the man was sure it was him being spoken to. Al was never one to say no to anything free, after all, why would he? It was free! But he wasn't quite sold to the idea of eating dinner with the girl. He paused for a minute, hearing his stomach growling before he answered. "You're asking me out to dinner? Well, slow down, miss," he laughed, teasing, but then figured that the offer might be swiped away from him, he quickly answered, "Well, dinner would be great." Al nodded, hoping the invite wasn't just some ploy to mess with him.

Gerda rolled her eyes. Even though she had to admit the joke wasn't that bad. But she wasn't the kind of person to laugh a a joke, even if it is kind of funny. She was more the seriouse glare kind of girl. She smiled when Kay was around, she even laughed when he was with her. He was one of the few people that could get her to laugh so hard what ever she was drinking would come out of her nose. Or make her laugh so hard she falls off what ever she's sitting on. But looking at her now, as she walked tword a small stand that served shandwiches, she looked as if she never smiled. She didn't look particularly mean, she just looked seriouse. Like that teacher who never made a joke but wouldn't get mad if you made a joke. She wouldn't laugh, but she wouldn't get mad.
"So is there any reason you tried to pick pocet me, and dont say you have Kleptomania, cause you and me both know that's a bunch of bull shit. Whats the real reason?" She asked. She wasn't going to go to the cops, not with this.

Okay, so she didn't laugh. Big deal. Not like he wanted her to. But it felt rather annoying that she didn't, mostly because it only made Al look like a total jerk for poking fun at her. Well, at the very least, no one was paying them any attention anyways. It was a good thing that she didn't make a scene like the others. Being caught was embarrassing enough as it is already. They finally reached a sandwich stall when she stopped and stared at him, asking him for the real reason he tried to pick pocket her. If he was being honest, he really didn't know. It was just random form of impulse.
"Well, uh..." he paused, not knowing what there was to say. "To be honest, there's no reason. It's just that, you were the nearest person there." He would have lied, but he figured there was no point in it anyways. Besides, she was hardly making a big deal of it.

Gerda raised her eyebrows at him "So what, you just rob people, well thats not fair, dude. I mean you could at least target people who deserve it. Or can afford it." She turned to the lady working the stand. "Tuna fish sandwich please. What do you want.....what is your name any way?" She had just realized she didn't know. She wasn't in the habit of taking guys who she just met to get food, she normally just eat alone, reading a book or looking at the want adds, looking for something to get more money in her pocket.

He looked at the girl rather quizzically. Steal from people who deserved it? What exactly was the basis on saying who deserved what? These were the things that Al thought of. The way he figured, stealing from anyone he meets would be more fair. Sure, some other people would definitely lose more than those richer folk, but he wouldn't be prejudiced against the rich. After all, why would he? Not everyone that had money flaunted it in front of him.
Al watched as the girl ordered herself a tuna sandwich and then asked him what it was he wanted. He had to hand it to the girl. Even though he had stolen from her, she was still being rather pleasant to him. It was actually kind of freaky. He pictured that she would just suddenly snap and attack him. And yet, she didn't. She was just...courteous and polite. And it made Al feel all sorts of guilty. Scratching his head, as though the annoyance he felt could be scratched away, he scowled, fishing out a small wallet out of his pocket. He tossed it over to the girl before running a couple of meters away from her.
From the distance, he shouted at her to make sure she heard him. "There. You can have it back. Maybe I will target other people who deserve it next time." Al broke off into a run, making sure that if she did decide to pursue him, she wouldn't be able to catch him anymore. Before he disappeared from sight, he managed to call out one last statement. "The name's Al!"
