Scott caught the door to the bathroom open, the low sounding creak instantly distracting him. He turned his head sideways, looking over the the freshly showered Abram, thinking about how much he wished he meant a little more to him than just an extra companion in the house. He watched as he gave his step brother a kiss, feeling the eerie prick of bitterness sting him hard. He tried his best to ignore them but his eyes kept moving around to them. It was hard pretending to care about Angry Birds, when all he really wanted to do was curl up next to Abe and get lost in the embrace. However, he knew that the dream was too far-fetched for his own good. It was never going to happen.
He looked over at Abe and Tom, staring at them longingly before he sat up from the bed. He saw that Abe had entered the kitchen, no doubt about to make himself something to snack on. Scott followed him silently, not only because he was fascinated by the man and wanted to spend more time with him, but mostly because he knew that if he were to stay in the bedroom alone, then Tom would pry even more. And he couldn't just stay silent and deny things any longer. If his brother had asked, he knew he would have to answer. Silently slipping into the kitchen, he caught Abe munching on a sandwich.
"Hi. Mind if I help myself to some?" he asked, questioningly, knowing that he didn't really have to ask for permission. He took two slices of bread and began smothering the ham with mustard before sealing it between the slices. He sat down next to Abe, almost dazed by him, before taking a bite. "So, how was the trip to the store? Find anything interesting?" Scott tried to make a better conversation, but his mind was blank, and he could only hope that he wouldn't be met with a blank stare and a questioning look by the man beside him.

Abram grunted a positive hum while eating his sandwich while Scott started to make his own sandwich. Though at the rate Abram was going, by the time Scott finished his sandwich and sat down, Abram would be finished his. Which was pretty good timing since Scott wanted to talk, then Abram didn’t have to talk with food in his mouth. It wouldn’t be something that bothered Abram, but he knew the two brothers he lived with cared about that thing. He could remember times he ate their house when he was younger, being scoffed by their parents about all his bad habits. Some might be surprised Abram and Thomas are close, but both share a little darker side that feels like most of the time the rest of the world just wouldn’t get.
“Well,” Abram began speaking, thinking about earlier in the day, “it was a nice day out, but everyone else decided it would be a nice day to walk around as well, so that was a little annoying. But we saw some nice things, there was a sexy mannequin green blazer. Wanted to get the whole outfit but it was too expensive. Oh and at this one store, there was like, a statue of a man working, kind of like a blacksmith, but it was all messed up looking, his face was melting, and his hammer had a chain that was wrapped so tightly around his arm that it was digging to the flesh. It was pretty gruesome.”
He kinda laughed a bit at the last part there. It was actually a fantastic piece, and fantastically over priced, but there was no way he could steal it either. Probably weighed as much as him, only so much was possible, even for the great Abram DeBeithiem. He noticed that Scott was listening to him with a little fascination, so Abram stared back at him. Taking a minute just to look the familiar boy over again. Even though they were half brothers, there were times, especially late at night, which lead to some awkward moments, he couldn’t - or wouldn’t - notice the different between them. He thought about a time when Thomas was out for the night, and Scott and him were lying in bed. And just naturally like he was used to, he hugged the person next to him close, caressing the body and getting pretty intimate. Scott acted pretty normal about it, getting awkward and weird, so Abram stopped. But he had always wondered what it would have been like if they had continued.

Thomas had been watching Scott and Abram talk the entire while. Still standing in place at the doorway. He had been contemplating what had just happened. He remembered talking to his step brother and he had done it again. Flirted a bit too much again. Thomas had been doing this for some time now; since Thomas and Scott were about 15. Thomas by then, experimented with ways to flirt and act around other guys and he thought, why not with his younger brother. They always hung around together, he knew his brother wouldn't hold it against him and who could he trust more than family itself? So Thomas thought why not. Gradually, he would and start again. These occurrences hadn't happened in a while but he was starting to feel that need for his brother's attention again. He drove his brother away this time though. Many times, he'd be able to restrict himself from overdoing anything but at other times, it was as if a teenager was controlling his very movement. A hormone filled teenager.
Abram and him showed their affection in front of Scott. Thomas knew that Scott had a thing for Abram though. It wasn't all that hard to tell at all. He would be staring at Abram many times, enticed by his words as if they were his source of energy. Tom tried not be the one to pull Abram in when Scott was around for this reason, but he knew Abram couldn't help himself. Maybe he never noticed Scott's stares, maybe he just didn't care and maybe he wanted to tease his step brother as much as he did. Thomas felt like he shouldn't have pushed Scott into overreacting. Maybe he needed to focus more on Abram and forget those feelings about his step brother.
Thomas really needed to have one night of the week to forget things, he had been wanting to go out on his one day of rest the entire week. He wanted to go to this club that customer had told him about. The Wolf's Den. He knew his friends would be up for it. Anything with an adventure-esque sound to it, would be a guaranteed yes from Abram and anything with Abram would be a yes from Scott, not that he would have been hard to convince. Thomas decided to announce his choice of showering before eating anything.
"I'm going to go shower. Remember, we're going out later tonight guys."
With that, Thomas closed the bedroom door to gather his things and shower.

Scott let out a laugh as he watched Abram devour the sandwich. He didn't eat it, he devoured it. He took chunks off of the sandwich in each bite that he took, so by the time Scott had sat down on his seat, ready to eat, Abe was almost done. He wasn't too shocked though. The guy was a fast eater. He always had been. Ignoring the pace his friend was going, he gripped his sandwich and took a bite, listening to his story intently.
"You should show me the blazer one time. Maybe I could, uh, get it for you first and you just pay me back after," he offered. In truth, he really just wanted to offer to give it to him, after all, Scott had been saving up for a while now, and he had a few to spare. But part of him felt like Abe wouldn't take anything for free, so he offered a loan of sorts. Even though he wasn't intending on being paid back. He then pictured the statue that he was describing. It was like Abram to remember something like that. Trying to picture it, he suddenly lost his appetite, placing the sandwich back on top of the saucer and moving it away from him. Just the thought of metal melting into flesh disgusted him. "It sounds...amazing," he replied unconvincingly. He was almost sure he didn't buy it.
It took him a while before he realized that he was zoning in and out once again, a common occurrence when he was with Abram. It wasn't entirely his fault. Abram just had that natural pull towards him. Thinking about it, he realized when this whole fascination had begun. One time, when Tom wasn't at home, and Scott had just been laying in bed, trying to sleep when he felt an arm wrap around him from behind. There was a warmth in the embrace, together with a flurry of soft pecks on his neck. He knew that Abram had clearly mistaken him for Tom, but a greater part of him wish that he didn't. He had hoped that Abram had been doing it on purpose, hoping that he meant a greater deal to him than he ever led on. It wasn't until he felt Abram's hands run through his chest that he immediately moved away, feeling awkward about it all. His brother and Abram were sort of a thing, and as much as he might have wanted Abram, he didn't want to come between that. He would rather that he feel bad rather than Tom. After all, he did genuinely care for him. But given other circumstances, he would have given in to it completely.
Despite this attempt at self control, he still found himself in awe with Abram, as though he were a god sent down from the heavens. Noticing that he too was staring back at him, he smiled. "Do I have something on my face?" he trailed off, wiping blindly at his chin. After a couple of attempts, he threw in a "Did I get it?"
It was then when he jumped in his seat, hearing Tom speak. Had he been there this entire time? Scott furrowed his eyebrows, hoping that his step-brother only just walked in to tell them where he was going. The younger brother immediately looked down on the floor and began playing with the hem of his shirt, partly hoping that Tom wouldn't pick up on his vacant stares at Abram. It wasn't until he mentioned that they were going out when he lifted his head, a confused look on his face. He opened his mouth to ask but Tom had already shut the door. Turning now to the only other person in the room, he asked, "Where are we going?"

“Sure, maybe next time we’re out.” Abram said, though he wouldn’t really expect Scott to get it for him. It was a little on the expensive side, and its not like he earned much being an exotic dancer at the cave. This little exchange of stares they were having was amusing Abram a bit, so when Scott asked if there was anything on his face, Abram smiled and half laughed, “Yeah, there’s whole bunch of Flower all over it.”
Then Thomas had announced he was going to have a shower, which disappointed Abram a bit, as they could have just had one together, but he still managed to let out a comment about Thomas not having to much fun in there without Abram. Though for a moment, he was confused about going out for the night. Part of him just wanted to stay at home and cuddle up on the couch and watch some movies. Then he remembered the conversation earlier in the day, Thomas recounted what a customer at the cave had told him about some place called the Wolf Den. It sounded like a nice place to party, so Abram had agreed to go.
His stomach growled again, he looked down at it then went to get some cheese from the fridge. While looking around he said, “Yeah, we are going to this place called the Wolf Den. Sounds pretty fun, a lot more enjoyable then the Cave, that’s for sure.” He found some cheese and broke off a large chunk, he shut the fridge, and with a slight sly smile he looked at Scott, “Although, it doesn’t have you dancing up on a stage, and I think I would miss that. So you should definitely come.” Then he took a big bite out of his piece of cheese.

Scott never knew if Abram ever knew there was more to his job than just dancing. Of course, he never mentioned things like that outright, but he was almost sure Tom would have told him. If not, then he probably would have heard them fighting over it. But the way he said what he did made him think that he didn't really believe he could afford it. Scott let out a sigh, figuring that maybe it was better that he didn't know about his extra curricular activities. He let out a pout when Abram mentioned that he had flowers on his face. Flower had always been a nickname that he had given Scott. He had no idea why, and he didn't really care. It was sort of endearing, having his own nickname from him.
He giggled as he heard a loud rumble coming from his companions stomach, before looking over at his half-eaten sandwich. "You can have that if you want." But his suggestion went by ignored as he rummaged the fridge for a slice of cheese. He sat silently, listening to their plan later. The Wolf's Den? He's heard of it before, but he's never been there. All he knew was that there were people he worked with at The Cave who went there one night and came back the next with a bunch of bruises. "The Wolf's Den? Oh, geez, I don't think..." but he trailed off, listening as Abram continued to speak.
He had no idea that Abram noticed that he dances on stage. Of course, he knew about it, but he didn't think that he was someone who'd take a look and watch. Scott just always figured that whenever he went to The Cave, it was always just to visit Tom. And he knew that those two liked to keep busy. So when he complimented him and told him that he wanted him to come, he flushed red, blushing uncontrollably. "You seriously...oh, well, then, okay. If you really want me to, I'll come."
